Education
Education is important factor in every new home and Deerfield West is located where the quality of education is a high priority. Deerfield West is located within the Choctaw-Nicoma Park School District which consists of 5 Elementary Schools, 2 Middle Schools, and 1 High School. Rose State College is only a 10 minute drive, and The University of Oklahoma is only a 25 minute drive.
Choctaw-Nicoma Park Schools
Choctaw-Nicoma Park Schools provide instructional services in total or in part of five incorporated municipalities in Eastern Oklahoma County: Choctaw, Nicoma Park, Midwest City, Harrah, and Oklahoma City. Students receive high-quality, well-planned educational experiences within a contemporary and rich curriculum. Over 300 fully-certified instructional personnel serve district students. The educational program offered by the district reflects state and regional accreditation requirements and proficiencies. In providing the most positive educational experience possible for our students serious consideration is given to students’ academic, social, emotional, and physical developmental needs.
Rose State College
Rose State College offered its first classes on September 21, 1970. Originally named Oscar Rose Junior College in memory of the well-known Midwest City-Del City Superintendent of Schools, the school was renamed Rose State College effective on November 1, 1983. In December 1973, the College became a member of The Oklahoma State System of Higher Education, after approval from the College’s Board of Trustees. The College has grown from an initial enrollment of 1,700 in 1970 to a regular fall enrollment of approximately 8,200. The campus now includes twenty-one buildings on approximately 116 acres.
The University of Oklahoma
Created by the Oklahoma Territorial Legislature in 1890, the University of Oklahoma is a doctoral degree-granting research university serving the educational, cultural, economic and health care needs of the state, region and nation. The Norman campus serves as home to all of the university’s academic programs except health-related fields. Both the Norman and Health Sciences Center colleges offer programs at the Schusterman Center, the site of OU-Tulsa. The OU Health Sciences Center, which is located in Oklahoma City, is one of only four comprehensive academic health centers in the nation with seven professional colleges. OU enrolls more than 30,000 students, has more than 2,000 full-time faculty members, and has 20 colleges offering 153 majors at the baccalaureate level, 133 majors at the master’s level, 75 majors at the doctoral level, 20 majors at the first professional level, and 18 graduate certificates. Bricktown
The reconstruction of Oklahoma City’s first wholesale commercial district began in the early 80′s, and included the forming of a limited partnership for occupants who leased the buildings. From this point to the continuing development projects in that area bounded by Main Street, Reno, Walnut and the Santa Fe Railroad tracks, Bricktown has become a tourist attraction that provides residents and visitors to Oklahoma City with an outstanding place to dine, to enjoy exciting AAA baseball at the Southwestern Bell Bricktown Ballpark to stroll along the Bricktown canal where you can view the Bricktown Mosaic Murals, or to just enjoy people-watching. Also you can go to catch a movie, enjoy the night life, and catch a basketball game, concert or one of the many events that Bricktown hosts. Minutes away from Bricktown is the Chesapeake Energy Arena where you can enjoy watching the Oklahoma City Thunder and numerous other concerts and events.
Golf

Outdoors
Oklahoma is a great state full of outdoor activities. Just moments away from Deerfield West, you will find Lakes Draper, Thunderbird, and Wes Watkins is ideal for boating, water sports, fishing, sailing, and swimming. Also camping facilities are located at each of these lakes with facilities for RV’s or tents. Trails in the area are ideal for hiking or biking. Also Oklahoma has excellent hunting seasons and great catfish and bass fishing in its abundant lakes and rivers. Oklahoma’s rivers provide excellent canoeing, fishing, boating, and camping. Tinker Air Force Base
Deerfield West is located only 5 miles from Tinker Air Force Base. Tinker is one of the Department of Defense’s premier joint service facilities. The Air Logistics Center’s mission is dedicated to providing worldwide technical logistic support to Air Force aerospace weapon systems, as well as associated equipment and commodity items. Its major product line directorates of aircraft, propulsion and commodities manage, maintain and procure resources to support first-line overhaul and maintenance of B-1, B-2 and B-52 bombers, the multipurpose C/KC-135 aircraft, and several missile systems. The center’s facilities house some of the most sophisticated technical repair and manufacturing processes in the world, acquiring and maintaining the world’s best aviation systems in partnership with our customers and suppliers. Other directorates furnish center-wide services such as environmental management, financial management, procurement policy, technical and industrial plant maintenance and computer services.
